Teaser Tuesday #15 & Top Ten Tuesday #16

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read • Open to a random page  • Share two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here is my teaser for today:

Alpha Divided (Alpha Girl #3) by Aileen Erin
Location: 2076
"As you grow, you learn that life is rarely about doing what you want. We all do what we must, and that is even more true for powerful ones like you."

Books Description

Life has been crazy since Tessa McCaide moved to Texas. She’s gone from being a normal-ish girl with visions to a super-powered werewolf. She’s fought off vampires and broken a nearly unbreakable curse. And she’s got a hot mate, Dastien Laurent, to keep her busy.

Things are looking up until the full moon ceremony rolls around. Before Tessa can strengthen her bond with Dastien, the local coven crashes the gates, demanding that Tessa—their heir apparent—be returned. If the pack wants to avoid a war with the witches, handing Tessa over is the only option.

Tessa doesn’t want to cause an all-out fight, but joining a dark-magic coven isn’t on her to-do list, especially if embracing her magic side means parting with Dastien. When the coven leader tries to control Tessa with dark-magic, Tessa realizes she has to dismantle the coven or prepare the pack for war. Either choice will change her life—and her world—forever.

  6. Your list is really good! Castor Chronicles was really good and I liked it... I've read and loved all of The Morganville Vampires books except for the latest one... I just can't get myself to read it (probably because this series has dragged on too long?) :( The Black Dagger Brotherhood is really good too! But I haven't read after Lover Mine because I suddenly decided that I no longer wanted to read "adult" novels :D

    1. Ha ha I know exactly what you mean about postponing reading a final book! I go through phases too where I read more of one genre than another :) I'll always go back to Paranormal romances though!!

  7. I need to read the Lunar Chronicles as well! I was going to read the Sookie Stackhouse books and the Beautiful creatures series but I haven't really heard anything good, specially in the later books so I decided to drop them.

    1. I usually take reviews like that with a pinch of salt. If it grabs my interests I usually give the first book a try but will probably wait until I find a copy at the book exchange versus buying it new!

  10. That's an interesting teaser; it's not a statement that many people will enjoy hearing though. We all like to think that we could get through life doing only what we want. It's not the way that life works though, I guess. I'd be interested in knowing the context in which that comment was made in the book.

Great teaser! Here's mine for this week: http://deweygirl.co.uk/2014/10/teaser-tuesday-organ-reapers/

    1. Exactly!! Most times the hardest things to hear are the exact things we need to hear :) The context is quite intense with a war brewing underneath...

  11. Not reading much werewolf fiction these days!

I have two teasers today from Veronica Roth’s YA dystopian “Divergent” series:
