Topic of Light: Belief & Encouragement

Hello Lovelies

Welcome back to another Topic of Light! The concept of belief has been on my mind and I thought I would share it with you. Lately I have been thinking about belief or believing in someone. Whether it be believing in yourself or believing in someone else.

It is amazing how this little concept can make such a big difference in a life. If it is belief in someone else, it can make them shine so bright and achieving things they probably didn't even believe they were capable of achieving. If it is belief in yourself, it gives you hope and opens new doors. You can find courage in yourself that takes you to new heights and new opportunities will arrive on your doorstep.

This concept is amazing. It has fascinated me for a few days. It can change so much around us or around another person.

The energy shifts from insecurity to positive capability.

Has this made a difference in your life? Have you seen it in someone elses life?

There are 3 people in my life who have believed in me, even when I couldn't believe in myself. This encouragement has made such a difference in my life and helped me believe in myself, which in turn has helped me encourage others.

This encouragement keeps me going. When I hit a low spot I think back to their words and most times it lifts my spirits.

Who has believed in you? Who have you believed in and they rose to the top?

Be great. Be positive. Be encouraging.

  2. If it wasn't for my husband, I would never have gotten into blogging. He encouraged me to put myself out there to get started with my writing, and I'm thankful for his belief. He has never looked at me like I'm crazy when I express my desire to become an author. I believe in him and our kids. He is so intelligent - he can do anything he puts his mind to doing.

Our kids have so much life and opportunity ahead of them. I'm looking forward to seeing what they want to do and be there for them, supporting them all the way.

I love that my daughter wants to be an artist. She's already talented at the age of 11, and I know that talent is only going to grow as she grows up.

My son, 4, is looking forward to starting school. In a year, it'll be time to take him to kindergarten registration, yikes! 0.0

It's amazing how the power of thought can change your whole outlook on life. It's easy to fall into a cycle of hopelessness but hard to break out, and I struggle with breaking that cycle everyday. I'm glad you have people in your life who believe in you and encourage you. I know I believe in you. :)

    1. That is so awesome that your husband encouraged you! Most of the people I know didn't even know what a blog was! It warms my heart to read about your family and how you all support each other. I also struggle with that cycle but it is a fight we need to fight every day. I believe in you too Jennifer! We will be amazing published authors together :)

  3. An awesome post as always Chene. I think we all have self-belief, but the crippling effect of self-doubt can wipe out any positivity we may have had. That's why it is so important to have an inner - or - outer circle of people who believe in you - not in a false sense or blind faith....No...they believe in you because they know what you are capable of...even if you haven't reached it yet, they believe you will. This helps us rediscover our own self belief. It's one of the most powerful feelings ever! Today for me started off badly, but I 'believed' it would get better as the day went on. And so it proved, lucky for me. Thank you for helping us to think about these things Chene, instead of casually dismissing our days as good or bad...we actuall 'think' about what happened, and try and make the good thoughts and ways a habit in our lives!

    1. Thank you John! I hope you week has gotten better and that you keep on surrounding yourself by amazing positive people. My parents always said, if you want to be positive / successful, you need to hand out with positive / successful people!

  4. This is a great post, Chene! I'm glad you had those people to believe in you. We all need that. The first person to believe in me who wasn't related to me (so it really counted in my child mind) was my 8th grade math teacher. I was barely passing his class and he told my mom, "Don't worry, Robyn will get it." Doesn't sound like much, but it was the highest praise any teacher had given me. I became an honors math kid after that. I try to remember a life can change with the slightest bit of faith. Thank you for taking me back!

  6. Nope, I didn't forget that your Topic of Light was up, my delay is thanks to life getting in the way *sigh*... Anyway, I'm here now to tell you that I completely agree with you and that having someone supporting you and, more important, believing in you is perhaps the most precious of the blessings ever. I'm very pleased you have those people around you, Chanzie, you deserve them and I'm sure they think of themselves as the lucky ones because they have you in their lives <3
