(In exchange for an honest Review)

Length:  12 pages / 1000 words

Goodreads Synopsis:

A romantic short story from the Lit Bits collection:
Everyone has their secrets but the secret shared by ex-dancers Rachel and Richard is more surprising than most, and they’ve never shared it, not even with their closest friends, not even now when tragedy strikes. ‘Secret Dancer’ is a Romeo and Juliet for today – a tragedy and a love story. It is sure to bring a tear to the eye of the reader.

My Review:

What an interesting and well written short story. This is a Short 1000 word story. I was amazed at the number of little twists and turns this story takes in such a limited span. A few of the developments had me really surprised, The characters were intriguing, the plot was original, and the pace was quick.

I was drawn to this story originally because I was intrigued by the title and read a tiny excerpt when I was writing my own short story for the LitBits Competition at the end of last year.

Ron is a brilliant writer and the quality of work is great.

Final Thoughts:  $2.99 seems a bit expensive for such a short book but the quality of work is great. This book might be for people who don't have time to read long novels or have trouble getting through bigger books.

My Rating:

  1. Sweet review Chanzie! It's always great when an author can suck you into such a short story!

    1. Thanks Naomi :) I actually got the price wrong, it is $2.99, it was well written but I need more 'meat' in a book.

  2. I love when a short story can pack such a punch.

  3. Congratulations to anyonewho can create an engaging story in such a confined length....I don't think I could do that!

    1. Ha ha don't be silly, of course you can!

  4. How wonderful that in the span of 12 pages the author spun you around and surprised you. I love short stories! One of my emergency books in my car for times I forget my current read is a book of shorts. Have you ever noticed there isn't often an HEA in shorts? Always with the bitter sweet endings. Happy Friday, Chene!

    1. Come to think of it.. you are right, most short stories don't have HEA's but always bitter sweet. I am not a huge fan of such short stories but it is worth the few minutes it takes you to read it. Thank you for the visit Robyn!!

  5. 12 pages, wow. I rarely read short stories, but I like the sound of this one. Wishing for money right now (I should get a job...) Awesome review as always Chanzie! :)

    1. ha ha I know what you mean *does the money wish dance* Thanks for the visit Melissa :)
