Top Ten Tuesday ~ #9 Bookish Goals for 2014

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the girls over at The Broke and the Bookish, where bloggers get together and list the top ten things related to that week's topic.

~ Top Ten Bookish Goals for 2014 ~

My Reading Goals 1 - 5

1. To make a dent in my TBR pile!! For every book request I review I need to read a book off my TBR pile or at least a book I really really want to read! -This links up beautifully with my Double Trouble - Twin Reading Challenge!

2. To finish some of the series I have started, but have not got around to finishing because of review requests.

3. To read book that really grabs my attention and I want to read and not ones that I feel obligated to read.

4. To only buy books that either complete an existing series collection I own or have made it onto my 5 stars radar!

5. To limit my NetGalley Review Requests & how many tours I sign up for.

My Writing Goals 6 - 10
6. To finish the first draft of my Novel by 30 April 2014.

7. To work on a writing project every day single day - even if it is only for 10 minutes or only 200 words.

8. To write Topics of Light as often as I can (weekly).

9. To post at least 1 book review a week on my blog.

10. To post my Quote's of the Day quotes every day of the work week that I can.

What are your 2014 bookish resolutions?

Love

  4. Good luck with your goals! I need to focus on series that I have started too. I keep starting series, and I never seem to finish them. :)

    1. Thanks Pamela! Its just so difficult to keep track of all the series and then finish them all... sigh! Hopefully Octavia's Series Challenge will help get out butts into gear :)

  5. I like #3, I have read mindfully on my list and I feel like it's the same idea. So many books, so little time, so we might as well read what sounds good!

    1. Exactly! Life is so short and time flies so put great books on your reading list first instead of trying to get through a book you are not really enjoying!!

  6. Number one is me too. I want to make a huge dent in my TBR pile. Especially if I already have those books on my kindle or shelf.

And I love #3. I don't want to miss a good book, but at the same time. I don't want to feel forced to read something.

Great goals! Good luck with writing and writing in 2014!

    1. Thanks Jenna :) Its amazing how quickly we get sucked into reading things we not really interested in and the beauty of blogging gets lost somewhere in between...

  7. Great goals! I'm seeing a lot of goals to reduce the amount of review requests made and to catch up on existing books. Looks like we all have the same addictions :)

  8. I think all of those goals are very honourable, fair, but most of all - achievable. Here's how to get that first draft done - write a book no longer than 500 hundred words :)
Seriously, wishing you well, but I know you can do this, I am sure many of your fans are wishing you the same! Good luck, and go for it Chanzie!

  9. All your goals are ones I need to work on, too! I especially love your first goal, and the 1:1 idea. That's sure to help lessen the TBR pile at least a little!

Good luck on all your goals, and I hope you have a wonderful 2014! :)

    1. Thanks Nikki :) I hope you sign up for the Double Trouble Twin Reading Challenge then.. maybe it will help motivationally :) I really need to make a bigger dent than last year, I think I increased it but never decreased the pile at all with my physical books...

  10. Great goals! Good luck with your manuscript. I would like to finish my very first manuscript by spring as well. What is yours about? And good luck not buying books. Admirable goal, but yeah, where is the fun in that? (I think not buying YOURSELF books would work, but hey, if some OTHER person wants to buy you books, should you deprive yourself of this? I think not.) Best wishes for a great 2014!

    1. Thank you Rose! Lol your Spring is my Autumn :) The current manuscript I am writing started with through the Lit Bit's writing competition in December and the story has just grown since then. It really helped me get a good head start though. Its a Paranormal adventure :) what is your manuscript about?? Ha ha buying for others is an indirect way for buying for your self *rofl* I won't be able to not buy at all for myself, it just slow it down a bit ;) All the best to you too!!
